About

Hello! You have arrived at Sarah Atlee’s website. Welcome.
Following is a list of things that are true about me.
I am a visual artist living in Oklahoma City.
I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I miss it.
I moved to Oklahoma in 2006 after getting my MFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
I am represented at home and abroad by Ashley Griffith at aka gallery, in OKC’s historic Paseo District.
My next solo show, Back to Normal: Normal, OK Revisited will be on display at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum in Oklahoma City from July 7 through September 20, 2009.
My Normal, OK series is represented in the Society of Illustrators 51st Annual and the Nimrod International Journal v. 52 no. 1.
I have a drawing of my friend romy in the 24 Works On Paper show, which will travel around Oklahoma this year and next.
I wrote a book! You can order it from Lulu, from Amazon, or from the Gaylord-Pickens Museum (at a special price, while supplies last).
You are welcome to download a flyer for the book. (PDF, 456k)
I write a blog about the practice of contemporary art, particularly as it pertains to this neck of the woods.
I am starting a new project. Occupied is a series of portraits of Oklahomans talking about their jobs. Download this invitation if you are interested in participating. (PDF, 792k) This series will be exhibited at aka gallery in the fall of 2010. Proceeds will benefit a local nonprofit organization.
Occasionally somebody interviews me.
I belong to the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, the Oklahoma Art Guild, the Society of Illustrators NYC, and the Society of Illustrators LA.
